Last night in Christchurch, some young people took to the streets to make their voice heard about an issue they were learning about – human slavery, as part of an event called LOUDER.
LOUDER is a week of creative arts events, workshops and discussions to raise awareness about human trafficking and funds for the anti-trafficking wotk of Hagar International.
LOUDER is multi-disciplinary and will include artists from the visual arts, street art, dance, theatre & performing art, film, design, fashion, music, and crafts; uniting together as one LOUD voice in the fight against slavery. You can find out more about LOUDER here: loudernz.org
So last night, young people from Crossway Youth Group got together to talk about human slavery, craftivism and being active in their community to create awareness about social issues. They made some Guerrilla Kindness birds with labels attached to raise awareness of this cause and of LOUDER and then dropped the birds around the centre of Christchurch.
If you’d like to make some Guerrilla Kindness birds yourself, you can buy a kit from my etsy store here
