New exhibition! Craffiti at No Vacancy in April 15

by Sayraphim on November 13, 2014

So I’m super excited about this – I’ve got an exhibition coming up in April next year at No Vacancy Gallery at Fed Square called Craffiti in which I’ll be making soft sculpture figures inspired by artworks from Melbourne’s diverse street art scene.

Above are two of works I’ve already created for it,  left is Fox (after Barek) and right is Owl (after Erin Greer).

Alongside each piece will be original sketches/stickers or stencils from the artists themselves.KnittedSpraycan

The exhibition includes works by and inspired by:
Barek, Lifetime Stickyfingers, Philb, Malarkey, Braddock, Putos, Trollz B’ Trollin, Dean Sunshine, Astrotwitch, Erin Greer, Legojacker, Diabolical Robot Art … and some more to be revealed closer to the date.

Steen Jones, Suki, Junky Projects and (as of this morning) Psalm will also be represented in the exhibition!

Alongside the exhibition will be a Guerrilla Kindness work of these knitted spray cans (right). They’ll be left in cities around the world for people to find and take including New York, London, Christchurch, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and of course Melbourne! I’m really thrilled about the idea of an orchestrated worldwide Guerrilla Kindness drop!

The exhibition runs from the 30th March – 19th April. The exhibition will be opened on the 1st of April by arts advocate, journalist and reviewer Richard Watts and you are all invited!
