Stats is fun. Educational youtube stats are even funner!

This is just going to be a blog post about stats about edutube. I’ll sort them into years, as how old the article is, is important when you’re taking these stats into consideration.


With over 1 billion unique visitors a month, [youtube] is notorious as a prime site for procrastination and a haven for cat videos. But the most surprising viral sensations are located in an unexpected channel: Education. In fact, education videos are viewed twice as often as those found in the Pets & Animals category.

and more than 100M hours of how-to content have been watched in North America so far this year.2

In fact, 67% of millennials agree that they can find a YouTube video on anything they want to learn.3

In fact, nearly one in three millennials say they’ve purchased a product as a result of watching a how-to video.5
