I am very thrilled to announce that I’ve been asked to speak on a panel for Freeplay 2011!
Freeplay is Australia’s longest running independent games festival exploring the intersection of indie development, culture, arts and education. It’s on at the State Library from the 17-21 August.
I’m talking on the final panel for the festival, The Next 12 Months, looking at the near future in games and game play. The panel has some very illustrious names on it, Hugh Davies, Trent Kusters, Lisa Dempster and me!
I’m really excited to be able to talk on this panel, focusing on my thoughts about game play, playful engagement and pervasive gaming.
I’m also interviewed on the Freeplay blog today. Do check it out! I love the accompanying photo, it’s a rehearsal shot from the Terrible COMFORT show Everything Will Be Ok.
So if you’re in Melbourne over that weekend, come along and mingle, play some games, do some workshops and meet a bunch of interesting people! You can find the program here.
