I’ve got some very exciting news. If you follow me on Twitter, you might already know it…
But for those who don’t, my work is now being held in the National Gallery of Victoria archives! How awesome is that!
Let me tell you a story…
The NGV recently celebrated it’s 150th birthday. In the lead up to the big day, they did a call out for birthday cards. Since I’m currently doing a project that celebrates important moments, A Moment In Yarn, I decided to crochet the NGV their 150 years.
Blue for the water wall
Sepia for the old works
Colourful for the new
And partly framed
I sent the Moment to the NGV in the post, but somehow it never arrived. So I created another and hand delivered it to the lovely Emma from the NGV. She seemed really pleased with it, and told me casually that it will go into the NGV archives! I didn’t expect that! I’m not sure what I thought they’d do with the birthday cards, but I’m so thrilled that it’s going in the archives!
I celebrated with a cup of coffee and a flurry or texts and tweets.
